Leonid Novitskiy (Rus/Mitsubishi) : «I’ts a fist special on African soil for me, similar in some ways to what you can find in Russia in summer .I’ts great to win a stage but tomorrow will be the real desert run”

 

Christian Lavieille (Fra/Proto Dessoude) : «a real WRC! A sliding adventure, but no time to keep your guard down, indeed you had to keep complete control at all times, the suspension on the car is doing very well”

 

Eric Vigouroux (Fra/Chevrolet) : «the car is slightly TOO new, I spent most of the time making sure everything was in working order, on a track we weren’t too comfortable on. To be honest I’m surprised to be in the top five, because I took it easy”

Oscar Polli (Ita/KTM 690) : «I caught up with four other bikes and a quad on this special, and their dust slowed me down, a nice little warmer, it’s great to feel this kind of power at your finger tips”

 

Michel Marchini (Fra/Yamaha 450) : «Nice but too short to get a real idea of what awaits, I hadn’t driven since last year, so I took it easy, no risks »
