Al Qaryat / Idri – Libya – The mixed one
Monday 28th April

You will need to be awake at dawn, but the 1st bike start will be however illuminated by the sun at 5.30am. One word to describe this technical stage: diversity.
The 1st step will be a 154km road section.
Do not forget to fill up at the last gas station, because there won’t be any refuelling possibility for 459km, except if you try to used the petrol in the pipeline that will be your guiding light all along the stage.

Therefore, tarmac, a pipeline to be followed and finally off-road in the sand to validate the title of this day: “the mixed one”: This will be the first dunes of the rally and will probably cause the first significant gap between competitors. Then back on track for the finish line and for a deserved rest in Idri.
