Idri / Idri – Libya - The most beautiful one
Tuesday 29th April

This is the 2008 rally leitmotiv: totally different stage every day.
According to Cyril Neveu, Idri / Idri is the most beautiful one: only sand, ¾ of the journey is off-road.
Fill up your vehicles and deflate your tyres. Also do not forget to have a look around, you will be the first racers to cross the OUBARI erg.

Some details:
The 1st kilometres will be on a rack with a lot of course’s changes. Then, the track will change progressively to an off-road section in the dunes. Mirages are about to be present…
And here, open your eyes: in front of you, a 80 km sand sea. Be extremely cautious, this sea has some dangerous waves that could offer you some critical jumps. Keep the course and hold on.
Afterwards, a new pipeline as a guiding line, and some more steep dunes to be passed over in the OUBARI erg. Finally, you will have to head for the north to reach the well deserved bivouac. Warning, there won’t be any assistance in the night: it is a marathon stage : vehicles will in “parc fermé” until tomorrow.
