Sinawin - El Borma – Tunisia – the earliest one
Thursday 1st May
The world is belonging to who is getting up early. The caravan will not wait for the sunlight to conquer desert, with a 1st bike’s start at 4.00am.
The competitors will enjoy the sunrise during a 162km road section and will say goodbye to Libya.

After the border will start the 1st 70km of special stage: A pilot-dedicated section with a technical and snaky track, guarded by military forts. Then, they will join a main track and look for a Tunisian pipeline, to be followed on a fast track. Here the bikers will gas up.
Afterwards, the racers will go for a long off road section with in particular the famous “passe des douaniers” (1.5km of pure happiness) in the El-Borma erg. You will have to think to deflate your tyres because you will start here a 115 km long sandy section. This will be an off road part with many small dunes to pass over in the middle of high dunes walls.

Read carefully your road book, a dune can hide another one.

Finally, the competitors will join a marked track to arrive to Chouech, a few kilometres far from El Borma, the most important Tunisian petrol complex, where they will rest in a marvellous palm grove, a haven of peace.
