Day 1 – MONDAY 22 Sept.: Dromedary stage 
Transfer: 54 km - Special: 257 km in two loops - Transfer: 54 km

The warm-up will be varied, offering an insight into all the terrains encountered on the 2008 rally. From technical for 50 km, to a fast stretch to test maximum speed, off-road through an erg, continual changes in direction to be completed to the letter, then back to an extremely hilly track and a very fast 20 km stretch.
30 minutes refuelling and then off for the second loop! Navigation facilitated by numerous tracks but watch out for the traps: deep ruts, shifting sands and a spectacular climb to km 89, which promises to be a real challenge.
